Sesame House

Stopped by on a whim and ordered the sesame chicken. The food was a generous portion although not much broccoli. Considering chicken is more expensive and more filling not really an issue. The egg roll and fried rice were as tasty as the main course. They even put a fortune cookie in with the meal. There is a small indoor seating area but this is mostly a pick up or delivery operation. The staff were not unpleasant but did seem disengaged. Portions were big enough for two or leftovers. Good value for a tasty meal.

I see this establishment as a good value overall. The food is not sophisticated but portions are generous. The quality of the shrimp was excellent in our chow mein. Only a few tables are available as it's primarily take out. I return here because the dishes are not flooded with celery, onions or green pepper which many other businesses do. I consider Sesame House a great choice.

Sesame House has a lot of good reviews. It seems most of their customers are happy. Not many Chinese restaurants in Arlington with this many good reviews. I like Chinese cuisine, but I’m spoiled. I’ve experienced dining on a floating restaurant in Kowloon. I was lucky to dine at Arc-en-Ciel when they had an Arlington location. We ordered a Happy Family and a Seafood Combination. Both are house specials. Both for pickup. There were a few customers dining inside for “daily lunch deals”. Note the dining area is tiny with minimal decor. The portions were generous. I think it was excellent value for money. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful, which suits our taste. The meat was good and plentiful. On a minor note, the chicken wasn’t on par with the beef. Overall, we enjoyed it. There was plenty of food for lunch and dinner. No wonder they have happy customers.

Drove a long way to eat here based off reviews. Ordered chicken noodle soup(2/10) wonton soup (4/10) and a large entree of sweet and sour chicken in which they forgot our sweet and sour sauce. The chicken pieces are huge and overly breaded. And how can you forget the sweet and sour sauce when you order sweet and sour chicken?! Of course we drove 30 minutes home and then we realized. I can't drive back so we are stuck with a plate full of dry disgusting chicken. We will not be back. This restaurant is a 2/10 if that!
